Learn Boxing / Kickboxing

Boxing is one of the oldest and most efficient combat sports; techniques from Western Boxing, Kickboxing, Thai boxing (aka Muay Thai), French boxing (aka Savate) are the foundations of a good stand-up fighting style which is why they are part of the self-defence system I teach (Urban Krav Maga).

Can't find the boxing class you're looking for? Why don't you join us for a trial session, it's free!

What to Expect

In my classes you'll learn to use footwork, balance, coordination, defensive skills along with a variety of punches and kicks to hit your opponent(s) while minimising the chances of getting hit yourself.

We'll see the basics punches and maneuvers to evade or block punches (from Western Boxing) but also kicks and sweeps (from Kickboxing and Savate), and the use of knee strikes and elbows (from Muay Thai).

You will work on striking, drilling guard postures and defensive boxing techniques, developing upper body movements and footwork, but also timing and distancing, and improving tactics.

Unlike a traditional boxing class, though, these techniques will be combined with a very wide variety of disciplines and fighting styles (e.g. grappling, BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Karate, Krav Maga, etc) to form a well-rounded hand-to-hand combat system that will allow you to deal with real life situations.

As the saying goes, "all fights start standing up", but it is also true that "most fights end up on the ground", which is why being trained in a versatile system is so important with regard to self-defence.

Like any other boxing/kickboxing classes the sessions provide a full body workout, and will help you to improve your agility, coordination, endurance, strength and speed.

Classes are mixed, so students of all abilities (including complete beginners) are very welcome to attend.
